Here are the basic rules for reporting progress on project work. This rule of thumb may also be called the Reporting Period Rule.
- Work progress on tasks are reported:
- 0% – not started
- 50% – started
- 100% – complete
- No task should be reported 50% for 2 consecutive status meetings
- No task should span more than 2 weekly status periods
